This Privacy Policy explains how I AM (“I AM,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), the publisher of the I AM mobile applications — the user app and the expert app — collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal data. By creating an account or using either app, you agree to this Policy.
01Who we are
The I AM app is a personal wellbeing companion. It is published by Sriveda Sattva Pvt. Ltd, with registered office at #54/56 39th A Cross, 11th main, 4th T Block, Jayanagar, Bangalore, Karnataka, India - 560041.

02Information we collect
2.1 Account information you provide
- Name, email address, and mobile number
- Date of birth (we require all users to be 18 years or older)
- Optional profile details such as gender, city, and occupation
- Payment details, processed by our payment partner; we do not store full card numbers ourselves
2.2 Wellbeing information you provide
- Mood and emotional check-ins
- Self-assessment responses (Prakruti and Vikruti questionnaires)
- Health conditions you choose to share
- Conversation messages with the in-app AI (“Take a Break”)
- Voice notes you record for expert consultation
- Goals, streak preferences, and daily reflections
- Feedback on practices (helpful or not helpful)
2.3 Activity information
- Practices you start, complete, or skip
- Time-of-day patterns
- Sections of the app you use and how often
- Crash reports and diagnostic logs
2.4 Device and technical information
- Device model, operating system, and app version
- Device identifier (used to deliver push notifications)
- IP address (used to detect suspicious activity)
- Time zone
2.5 Information from experts you consult
- Recommendations made to you by verified coaches and Ayurveda practitioners through the app
We do not collect or store passwords, government identification numbers, or financial account numbers beyond what is essential for the service. Payment-related data is handled directly by our payment processor.
03How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide the app's core features — personalised recommendations, AI conversations, and expert connect
- Match you with the right expert when you request a consultation
- Improve recommendations based on what has worked for you
- Send notifications you have opted into (capped at 1–2 per day, with anti-fatigue logic)
- Process payments and prevent fraud
- Operate, debug, and secure our services
- Respond to your support queries
- Comply with our legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data, ever.
04Who we share information with
We share information with:
- Verified experts — only the information they need to consult with you
- Service providers operating on our behalf, including:
- Cloud infrastructure (Amazon Web Services)
- Push notifications (Firebase Cloud Messaging, Apple Push Notification Service)
- AI processing (OpenAI — your messages may be sent for processing; OpenAI does not retain this data for model training under our agreement)
- Payments (Razorpay)
- Audio and video sessions (where applicable)
- Calendar integration (Google Calendar, read-only, only if you connect it)
- Email and messaging services
- Aggregated, non-personally-identifiable analytics
- Law enforcement and regulators, only when required by valid legal process
All service providers are contractually bound to use your data only for the services they provide to us.
05Crisis content — a special note
If our system detects content indicating immediate risk to your life or wellbeing (for example, expressions of suicidal intent), it will:
- Show you Indian crisis helplines immediately (NIMHANS, Vandrevala Foundation, iCall, AASRA)
- Log a crisis event so our care team can gently follow up within 24–48 hours
- Retain an encrypted copy of the relevant message for safety review
This is a non-negotiable safety measure. We do not share this information with third parties or use it for any purpose other than your safety and the improvement of our crisis-response systems (in anonymised form).
I AM is not an emergency service. In a life-threatening situation, please call 112 (India's national emergency number) or one of the helplines listed in the app.
06Security
- Your wellbeing data — check-ins, conversations, and prescriptions — is encrypted at rest using AES-256
- All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.3
- We maintain access controls, audit logs, and regular vulnerability testing
- No system is perfectly secure. If you suspect a breach affecting you, please contact our Grievance Officer immediately
07Data retention
- Account information: for as long as your account is active
- Conversations and detailed session logs: 90 days, then aggregated and anonymised
- Computed personalisation scores: until you delete your account
- Crisis events: retained in encrypted, anonymised form for safety auditing
- Payment records: as required by Indian tax and accounting law
08Your rights
You can exercise the following rights at any time, through the app or by writing to support@iamlife.io:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate information
- Export all your data in a machine-readable format (delivered within 30 days)
- Pause personalisation learning
- Reset learned preferences
- Delete your account and all associated data — a 14-day grace period applies, after which permanent deletion is completed within a further 16 days
- Withdraw any consent you have previously given
- Object to specific uses of your data
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may also file a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India.
09Children
I AM is intended for adults 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we may have collected such information, please contact us at support@iamlife.io and we will delete it promptly.
10International transfers
Some of our service providers (for example, AI and infrastructure partners) may process your data outside India. When this happens, we ensure appropriate contractual protections are in place to maintain the same level of privacy and security required under Indian law.
11Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you in the app and by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the app after the changes take effect indicates your acceptance of the updated Policy.
